Liverpool are weighing up a move for a high-profile striker this summer, with major changes possible in their forward line.
Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool future appears increasingly uncertain.
After another inconsistent campaign and a clear dip in prominence under Arne Slot, the Uruguayan striker is no longer seen as an automatic starter in the Reds’ evolving system.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have stepped up talks and are now in “serious, direct and concrete” contact with Liverpool for a potential summer move.
But they’re not alone — interest from Saudi clubs has also emerged, with some reports claiming Al Hilal have inquired.
Romano adds: “Napoli are not the only club in the race — there’s competition, including from Arabia.
In short, it’s not an easy deal but Napoli are working on it.”
Reds are open to offers in the region of €60 million, and should a suitable bid arrive, the club are expected to move decisively to reinforce their front line — with Victor Osimhen high on the list of possible replacements.

Victor Osimhen is firmly on Liverpool’s radar, with the club weighing a move for the Napoli striker this summer.
As per Sky Italia, Osimhen has a £63m (€75m) release clause, and Merseyside are closely monitoring his situation.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal 2024–25 season on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, helping the club secure a domestic double.
There’s serious competition.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Al Hilal are preparing a new proposal after Osimhen turned down an earlier mega offer.
Juventus, Galatasaray, and several Premier League clubs remain in the mix.
Liverpool offers something few others can: Champions League football, Premier League visibility, and a team ready to compete now.
